  • The Book Bus arrives at Whetley Academy

    The children at Whetley Academy were delighted to see a Big Red Bus in the playground when they arrived for school yesterday...It was The Book Bus from the Book People.  The children and their families were allowed to climb aboard the bus and choose from a selection of beautiful books, which I am sure they will enjoy reading over the holidays.

    Pupils and staff are again celebrating outstanding achievement and strong progress at a Grimsby primary academy.  

     

    Wybers Wood Primary Academy saw numbers meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths rise by 8% over the past 12 months to 78%, significantly above the national average.

    Please note School will close for the Summer break on Friday 20th July at 3.30pm. School will reopen to pupils on Tuesday 4th September at 8.45am. Monday 3rd September is a training day for staff.

    19th July 2018 - Whetley Academy

    On Wednesday Yr1 & Yr2  visited Lytham St Annes. We had a fantastic day,  riding on the donkeys and playing on the beach. We ended our day with a delicious cool ice cream. We all had a great time and we hope to visit again.

  • Whetley's World Cup Final

    19th July 2018 - Whetley Academy
    The Year 6 students took on the Whetley Academy staff, in a closely contested football match yesterday. Over 500 students were outside to watch the game and cheer on the Year 6 students. The match was full of action from start to finish and saw the Year 6 students come out victorious in a 9-7  win. It was throughly enjoyed by students and teachers and a fantastic way to say good bye to our fantastic year 6 students.
     
  • Y6 Residential

    19th July 2018 - Whetley Academy

    Year 6 were extremely lucky to go on a 3-day residential trip to Caythorpe Court, Lincoln. They took part in a wide range of activities including; quad biking, raft building and the giant swing. They had lots of fun during their team building events and really enjoyed their last trip together.

    Friday 20th July is the last day of term.  Students will be involved in our Academy Sports Day, so they should wear their PE kit.  Students will be allowed to leave site earlier than normal.  The details are as follows:

    Our Year 10 students were invited to attend Leeds City College printworks campus in order to have an experience of the courses that are on offer at Leeds City College.

    Our first session was to experience a taster session in Public Services, our students were fully engaged in learning how to put somebody in handcuffs- including Mr Nichols!
