  • Bookbuzz 2017

    27th September 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    Bookbuzz 2017 was launched in the library this week to all our pupils in Year 7 and 8

    Once again the children’s charity ‘Booktrust’ have carefully selected a fantastic collection of twelve children’s books which our Year 7 and 8 can choose from to read and keep.

     The books will be funded from this year’s library budget.

    The books are available to school at the reduced cost of £3.00 per book.

    The School Nursing Team will be available at Ash Hil Academy on the lunchtime of Tuesday 3rd October 2017, for private/confidential health chats, and then at the same time every 2 weeks. Further details can be found on the attached poster.

  • Peer Mentoring

    26th September 2017 - Serlby Park Academy


    Our Peer Mentoring Scheme was set up in April 2017and from then it has gone from strength to strength.

    In the summer term Year 9 students are invited to apply for the role of “Peer Mentor” and following a rigorous interview process 12 are selected. They then take part in various training sessions in order to develop their skills and prepare them for their Peer Mentoring roles.

    On 18th September, our Post 16 students met with Debbie Burton, Partnership and Engagement Officer from Doncaster Council.  Debbie led a presentation on The Doncaster Youth Council.

    The Youth Council are a diverse group of local young people (aged 11-19) who want to ensure the voices of the young people in Doncaster are heard.  They provide a forum for young people to have a voice on the things that matter, highlighting issues that affect young people.  The Youth Council represent and communicate the views o

  • European Week of Languages

    Week commencing 25th September is European Week of Languages.


    A number of fun activities have been organised by the languages department. Students may get the opportunity to take part in quizzes, flamenco dancing, language taster sessions, pizza and tortilla making competitions … to name but a few.

    On Wednesday 27th September students can buy croissants and pain au chocolat from staff in the MFL leisure area. The event takes place at 1st break – don’t forget your money as thumb prints aren’t accepted. …….50p

  • The Dogs Trust Visit to School

    22nd September 2017 - Kingston Park Academy

    Our pupils had an exciting day yesterday when they all took part in learning how to be a responsible dog owner when the Dogs Trust visited the school. They learnt all about what to do if they come across a dog in the street, how to protect themselves if a dog tries to jump up at them by either rolling into a ball like a hedgehog or using the X-factor move.

    Leona Dunstan in Year 2 said “I liked how Emma showed us what to do if a dog knocked us over”. They also learnt the three rules about what you should do i

    On Wednesday 27th September 2017, Ash Hill Academy will be hosting an Information Evening for Parents and Carers of our current Year 11 students. Although the event is formally starting at 6pm, there will be a light buffet available from 5.30pm. The evening is an opportunity for parents, carers and Y11 students to receive key information about the current Year 11.
