Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Ewden Water Treatment Works

    27th February 2018 - Pheasant Bank Academy

    The children of Krushmeisters took part in an educational visit to Yorkshire Water's Treatment works in Sheffield.  Despite the weather forecasting heavy snow, this did not materialise and stop them attending the visit.  All of the children enjoyed a guided tour of the works whilst wearing suitable safety clothing.  They also took part in activities to learn about the water cycle, water around the world and water conservation.


  • Telephone system

    27th February 2018 - Highfields Primary Academy

    Unfortunately our telephone system is still not working - we cannot make or receive calls on our landline.  This is a local issue impacting several local schools, businesses and homes.  If you need to contact the school urgently, please call DELTA Head Office on 0345 196 0033.  We hope the service will be up and running again soon.

  • Ski Trip to Montgenevre

    27th February 2018 - Manor Croft Academy

    This year's ski trip saw 43 students and 6 members of staff travel to Montgenevre in France.  Blessed with wonderful skiing conditions the students, a mixture of beginners, intermediates and advanced all made fabulous progress having the opportunity of not only skiing in the French area but also crossing over the boarder into Italy.  Two countries skiied in one trip! Evening entertainment included a ride on a skidoo up the mountain followed by hot chocolate and fresh crepes along with a trip to the spa and

  • 'Design a Book Cover for Bookbuzz'

    26th February 2018 - Serlby Park Academy

    Congratulations to Daya in Year 6 who has been selected as the KS2 winner of this year's  Serlby Park Book Illustration Award.

    Last October, our Year 6 pupils had the chance choose a brand new book from sixteen specially selected titles provided by the reading charity Booktrust.

    Daya chose the book 'Wonder' by R. J. Palacio which has just been released as a movie.

    Well done to Daya and we hope she enjoys her prize, Fuzzymud by Louis Sachar.



  • 'Design a Book Cover for Bookbuzz'

    26th February 2018 - Serlby Park Academy


    Congratulations to our pupils in KS3 who have been chosen as the winners of this year's Serlby Park Book Illustration Award. 

    Last October, our pupils had the opportunity to choose a brand new book from sixteen specially selected titles provided by the reading charity Booktrust. We then launched an art competition to re-design the book covers. We received dozens of high quality entries so well done to everyone who took part.

     The brand new Bookbuzz books for 2018/2019 will be available in the Autumn term.

    Don't forget it is World Book Day on Thursday 1st March.  Letters have been sent home with all the details!  The children are able to dress up as their favourite character from a book or graphic novel.  Please note that parents are invited into school from 2.45pm to share a story with their child/children.  We hope to see you then!

  • Cross Country

    23rd February 2018 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    On Wednesday 21st February 2018 our Year 5 boys cross-country team along with Fiona A and Jessica F competed in the Leeds Cross-Country Championships. Although the weather conditions were good above us, under foot the recent rain made it very hard going with the course being boggy in many places. Jess Flintoft put in a determined performance coming 36th in the Year 4 girls, Fiona ran a super race in the Year 5 girls coming in 30th place and our boys also put in a super effort - first home was Reuben B in 21

  • IGD Employability workshop

    On Tuesday 16th January, the IGD employability Workshop came in to deliver two 2-hour workshops to our current year 9’s.

    IGD is an education and training charity for the food and grocery industry that undertakes research for the benefit of the public.  IGD's ‘Feeding Britain's Future’ programme brings the industry together to inspire the next generation of employees and equip them with skills for work in the food and grocery industry. Over 7,500 young people attended a workshop in 2016.

    The children from Year 1 and 2 were busy searching for habitats across our school grounds with the help of Catherine from the RSPB. We had a fantastic day discovering the different areas that animals call home and will now get busy planning how we can welcome even more wildlife into our outdoor area.

  • Netball Champions

    22nd February 2018 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Congratulations to our Year 10 Netball team  who went to the Doncaster Netball tournament held at Hayfield and WON!! This means they are the Year 10 Doncaster Netball Champions. They have worked really hard towards this achievement and have been a solid, consistent team since year 7!! They were unbeaten in their 5 games, winning 4 and drawing in the 5th.
