  • Year 11 Art Submissions

    4th May 2018 - The Elland Academy

    As we are preparing for the Art GCSE starting in May (4th - 14th), the work produced by the students has been exciting, experimental and of a high standard!

     

    Work has included portraiture, sculpture, abstract painting and some very inspirational research.

     

    We are confident of strong results and who Knows? Maybe the next Damien Hirst?

  • Local Artist

    4th May 2018 - Estcourt Primary Academy
    On Thursday 3rd May Eagles had the pleasure of working with  their very own artist for the day. Art John arrived with lots of creative tips and techniques for the children to learn. 
     
    The day started with a lesson on perspective and everyone loved the way they could represent distance using Art John's quick and easy advice.

  • Tour de Yorkshire passes through Garforth

    4th May 2018 - Garforth Academy

    A number of students enjoyed the spectacle of the Tour de Yorkshire as it passed directly in front of the Academy today.   • Congratulations to Year 7 Literacy Readers

    4th May 2018 - Serlby Park Academy

     

    Congratulations to our pupils in Year 7 who regularly visit our library to read with our Year 10 Literacy Leaders. 

    They have all now reached the top level in the national PM Benchmarking reading scheme.

    A celebration was held in the conference room, hot chocolate and doughnuts were served and certificates were awarded.

    Well done to everyone involved!

    What an achievement..our Year 6 Girls have just won the Basketball Tournament this afternoon at Zara Sports Centre.

    In Forest school pupils have been developing the allotment by planting a variety of fruit and vegetables which we plan to use in school. They have also been den building and have created a worm castle!

  • Visit from Royal Marines.

    2nd May 2018 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    Royal Marine Liam Fisher, an ex pupil of Green Lane, visited to talk to the children about the Royal Marines. He was accompanied by a colleague from the Royal Navy. The children learned what skills and attributes were needed to become a marine and gained an insight into the variety of jobs within the service.
