Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • KS3 Brodsworth Hall visit 4th May 2018

    10th May 2018 - St Wilfrid's Academy

    As part of this half term's thematic curriculum on 'Being British', an enthusiastic group of KS3 students ventured out to Brodsworth Hall, a local stately home run by English Heritage. The grounds were a great source of adventure with sunken gardens, tunnels and follies to be explored. After our tour we ventured into a secluded meadow and played softball rugby and football for an hour in the spring sunshine.   • Year 9 & 10 Go Higher University Trip

    10th May 2018 - De Lacy Academy

    25 of each year group had a University Experience day which they really enjoyed and found inspirational and informative. They worked with student ambassadors throughout the day, had a campus tour and designed their dream university which they presented to the whole group.

    One of the feedback comments of the day was "The campus tour was the best. This has made me feel more confident for when I move to University".



  • RNLI Visit Year 1

    10th May 2018 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    As part of their Oceans and Sea's topic, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution came to visit Year 1 to help them learn about staying safe around water, different safety flags found on our beaches and how if needed the lifeboat team can help in an emergency.

  • Year 11 Art Submissions

    As we are preparing for the Art GCSE starting in May (4th - 14th), the work produced by the students has been exciting, experimental and of a high standard!

     

    Work has included portraiture, sculpture, abstract painting and some very inspirational research.

     

    We are confident of strong results and who Knows? Maybe the next Damien Hirst?

    On Thursday 3rd May Eagles had the pleasure of working with  their very own artist for the day. Art John arrived with lots of creative tips and techniques for the children to learn. 
     
    The day started with a lesson on perspective and everyone loved the way they could represent distance using Art John's quick and easy advice.
