  • Interview of Sam Lee, musician in residence

    14th May 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    As part of city of Culture, Sam Lee, who is our musician in residence has been coming to the Academy to do some work with the boys. You can hear his interview as well as recordings of the boys singing and participating in the music lessons from 30 min onwards in this BBC Radio 3 program.

  • Humberside Night challenge

    14th May 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    Well done to Ethan Childs and Billy Hansard who, with some other children from their youth club, took part in the Humberside Night challenge. This involved about 25 groups from different youth clubs who walked 13 miles through the night facing different challenges along the way in order to highlighting Child Sexual Abuse. On the 28th April the two pupils went to Brantingham Park to receive a reward for taking part.

    The mobile library came to visit Foundation Stage and they all got the chance to borrow some books for use in their classroom.

  • Brightbus School Transport

    We have been informed that the transport provider - Brightbus is intending to close at the end of the academic year.

    Brightbus currently provide commercial school services across South Yorkshire with approximately 11000 journeys each day.  Brightbus have been a key player in our market since the late 1980s and have done a lot of work to build relationships with schools and parents to encourage the safe and direct travel for young people.

    During his visit to Hull, the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu will visit our Academy and will take part in a Q&A with some of our students.

  • HEALTH CAREERS VISIT

    12th May 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    On Thursday 11th May 2017, a group of our Post 16 Health & Social Care students visited the Doncaster Royal Infirmary, along with their teacher Mrs Doyle. The visit allowed the students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the careers they may wish to pursue, and to look at future careers in the Health & Social Care sector, as they talked to professionals.

  • KS3 Students walk across the Humber Bridge!

    12th May 2017 - St Wilfrid's Academy

    This term, in KS3, students are studying a cross-curricular project about the Amazon and as the first major bridge across the Amazon was only opened in 2011 (The Manaus-Iranduba bridge, also called Ponte Rio Negro, is a 3.6km river crossing across the Rio Negro in the Amazon region of Brazil) students are learning about bridges and going to build their own model bridge.

  • More fun for the KS2 Students in the Forest!

    On the first Saturday of the Easter Holidays a groups of 39 students and 6 staff (including Mrs Macdonald, Mrs Smith, Mr Tufnell, Miss Rowe and Mr Burkill) boarded the coach ready to jet off on the long-awaited JWA ski trip.

    A group of Year 13 students went to meet Jeremy Corbyn whilst he was out campaigning in Garforth and Leeds yesterday afternoon.
    Students were reminded that they have until May 22nd to register to vote and were encouraged to make that vote count.
