  • Year 7 Art Exhibition at Leeds Museum

    11th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    The Extend, Enhance, Exceed Exhibition at Leeds City Museum is now installed. Y7 pupils worked in English and Art lessons to create poems and artwork inspired by WWI.

    The work is in a great position in the large windows either side of the main entrance, thousands of visitors will see it over the summer! The work will be on display until early Autumn, so there's plenty of time to call in and see it. There's also lots of newspapers, containing images of the work, going to be available for the public to take aw

    10th July 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    This morning our Year 8 and Year 9 students experienced a performance by the Leeds-based Pop/Rock band My Forever as part of the compulsory PSCHE curriculum. Band members Dave (lead vocals, guitar) and James (guitar) graciously delivered songs from their catalogue of amazing music, as well as affording students the opportunity to get photos, signed flyers and chat with them after the performance.

  • Dewsbury Big Sing!

    10th July 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    On 10th July Manor Croft hosted the second Dewsbury Big Sing which saw 9 local schools in North Kirklees perform vocal and instrumental pieces in front of a packed audience.  The event was organised by Musica and Jennifer Issacs who was amazed at the 175 students who gave up their free time to rehearse and perform at the event.  Amongst the performers were the MCA Rock School who were amazing and performed two songs.  Well done to all involved!

    Thank you everybody for making the Summer Fair such a success. We all had a great time! This was a truly community event, putting The Parks Academy at centre of our community.

  • Hatfield Waterpark

    7th July 2017 - Crookesbroom Primary Academy

    We had a fantastic 3 days at the waterpark. The children (and teachers) joined in with all the activities. We were very wet and tired by the end of each day, which meant the children went straight to sleep. On day 2, we were invading by baby frogs and spent most of the night catching them and putting them back outside. An enjoyable and unforgettable experience for everyone who went.

  • SPT Uniforms 'Shop n Swap' Days

    7th July 2017 - Don Valley Academy

    SPT Uniforms will be holding 'Shop n Swap' days at the academy in the Main Hall. Uniform can be purchased on the day. Payments can be made using cash, debit/credit cards. Any items that require replacement/exchange can also be made. 'Shop n Swap' days are as follows:

    7th July 2017 - The Vale Academy

    Last week Snapchat introduced a new feature, the ‘Snap Map’. 

    This location based map allows users to see where in the country their Snapchat contacts are, as well as seeing location based photos and videos. The Snap Map shows a user’s Bitmoji, their cartoon avatar within Snapchat, pinpointed on a world map. Users can then zoom into the map to see the exact location of their friends.

  • MASS Brightbus School Transport

    7th July 2017 - Don Valley Academy

    MASS Brightbus will no longer be operating following the end of the current Academic Year. South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) is  co-ordinating  significant work behind the scenes, with The Local Authority and other commercial bus companies, to put alternative services in place following BrightBus’ announced closure.  As the new services are announced schools will be informed, however some timetables may not be available until after the schools close for the summer.  Therefore, if your sc

  • Summer Fair Success

    7th July 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy Wow!! What an amazing time we all had at the Summer Fair. Everybody had so much fun and we managed to raise around £750 to go towards school funds. A massive thank you to all our parents for bringing their children and also for donating prizes. Well done everyone!   • Year 3 & 4 Sports Day

    The children in year 3 and 4 had a fabulous afternoon showing off their sports skills to family and friends.

    Well done to all the children for participating with such enthusiasm and commitment.

    Congratulations to Team Rufford who came first and are pictured holding the George Parrish cup.

    The points from all sports day events will be totalled and the overall winners will be presented with the Rob Needham cup next week.

    Year 1 and 2 had an amazing morning with their family and friends watching them race and have fun on their sports day.

    The children loved joining in and really enjoyed themselves.

  • Year 9 Sports Leaders

    7th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

     

    Throughout the school year 5 dedicated pupils in year 9 have contributed over 40 hours of their own time to training and delivering sports sessions to our primary pupils. Along the way they have achieved their silver Sports Leadership award and their Cricket Activator certificate. They have delivered sports sessions on a weekly basis to primary pupils in years 4,5 and 6. They are extremely enthusiastic and motivated pupils and have done an amazing job this year!
