    25th January 2016 - The Vale Academy

    Congratulations to students and staff involved in the wonderful production of Scrooge.

    The Drama Department students started rehearsals in October and worked hard, sometimes four nights a week, to bring this classic tale to life.

    More than 100 students were involved in the production, ranging from actors to dancers, from musicians to backstage and technical crew.

    Principal Nicola Williams said: “I’d like to say huge congratulations to the Drama Department, students and their families for their support.


  • Challenge adds up to success

    Dividing lines were drawn but nothing could take away from a highly successful maths challenge between teams from eight primary schools.

    Parents and grandparents added to a supportive atmosphere as 32 pupils from Years 3 and 4 and the same number from Years 5 and 6 took part in the now annual event at The Vale Academy in Brigg.

    Organiser Jayne Keeler said the aim was to provide a mathematical challenge for the local primary schools.

  • Presentation Evening

    Representatives of The Elland Academy were pleased to attend the presentation evening on Friday 15th January at Hunslet Boys and Girls Club. The evening was an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our learners who accessed courses at HBGC. Our staff were able to share the success of Fiona who is now studying Hair and Beauty, Courtney who is studying Uniformed Services and Jordan who is studying construction.   • Homework Steering Group

    20th January 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Wednesday 20th January Manor Croft Academy hosted its first meeting of the new Homework Steering Group in the library at 4pm.  The group will be meeting regularly to ensure that the use of homework or extended study impacts on progress more across the Academy.  It was a very productive meeting and the group will meet again on the 24th February at 4pm.

    19th January 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Bishop Steven visited the academy last week and met with Y13 Philiosopohy and Ethics class to talk about "Life After Death", during the discussion the topics covered included- what happens to the soul after death? what is the apocalypse? How do our life experiences contribute to the afterlife? What is Heaven like?   

    It definitely left everyone with plenty to think about!

    Queen Elizabeth’s Academy students visited All Saints Academy today as part of their work and commitment to Maun Valley Citizens, which supports students to seek justice in their local community.

    The students have split into three working groups, Media, Community and Schools this was to ensure that they achieve the most they can around the area of Job opportunities for young people in the future in Mansfield.  Students explored the ideas of how they should be more informed on careers, guidance and jobs.

  • Dance Competition

    A message from one of our pupils:

    'Recently lower key stage 2 has took part in a dance competition in De Lacy Academy against other schools in the area.  All schools were determined to win the prize and that is why we've been working extra hard to achieve this goal.  Year 3 and 4 where learning specific dances to different songs every Friday to practice for the big night!  The night was an amazing experience and we cant wait for the next one!'

  • Craven Career Morning

    15th January 2016 - Craven Primary Academy

    On Friday we held our first Craven Career morning, seven guests from different careers including the RAF, Health and Social Care, author, midwifery and communications were invited into the academy to be interviewed by the children to see if they could guess their jobs.

    The children were so excited to meet our visitors and their speaking and listening skills were put to the test when they questioned them about their careers. Only one guest managed to keep their jobs a secret which was fantastic work by the ch

    De Lacy Christmas Dance Show 2015
    Miss Coopey's and Mrs. Morgan's classes attended De Lacy to participate in the dance competition 2015 on Wednesday 9th December 2015.
    They danced to: Santa Clause is Comin' to Town by Justin Bieber and Anaconda by Nicki Minaj.
    Both classes were brilliant and we even won 'The Best supported classes'!
    Lots of people were there to watch and the children behaved impeccably; they danced magnificently too!!
