Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

    To end the term, to celebrate Christmas and all the hard work and achievements we have all gained this year we got glamourous for our own Christmas parties!

    The children had lots of fun with classroom games and competitions before finishing with a whole school party food get together!

  • Christmas Fair

    Wow – this is amazing, we must do it more often’ came the cry from  staff and pupils alike – (at least that’s what I heard?)   The Fair 2015 was a great effort on the part of key Stage 3 pupils this year. The proposal for the fair came after pupils were seeking a fund raising platform for their own trip fund, particularly because The Key (Keyfund) is not available for them.   • Non-uniform Day

    16th December 2015 - The Vale Academy

    The Vale Academy held a non-uniform day to help raise money for a new wheelchair year 9 student, Tarran.  The wheelchair is a Lifestand LS3 which will vastly improve Taran’s independence and allow him to better socialise with his peers.  It will also assist in his therapeutic support by helping with his muscle strength and tone.  The students of the academy contributed £330 towards this very good cause, the last payment so hopefully, when he feels confident, we will see Tarran in his new chair.  Thank you f

  • Key Stage 2 Reward Visit

    Key Stage 2 had their reward visit on Wednesday 16th December, they went bowling. The children had a great time, especially those in year 3 as it was the first time they had been bowling.

    On Wednesday 16th December we had our Christmas Parties. The children had a fabulous time eating party food, playing games and dancing the afternoon away.

  • Christmas Party KS1

    The FS/KS1 Christmas party will take place on Wednesday 16th December. Please note that there will be no nursery in the morning.

    The FS1 session for that day will take place in the afternoon to allow children to attend the party.

  • RASA Students Spread Christmas Cheer!

    16th December 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    18 students from Y7-10 visited the Royal Care Home in the village yesterday to perform a short Christmas service to the residents, 

    Students performed their own version of the 12 days of Christmas, told the Christmas story through the eyes of 12 different peoople and sang Silent Night.

    A great time was had by both the students and the residents

  • More Rowing Success for Sarah!

    16th December 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Sarah Beevers has had a fantastic week with some great news.  Firstly she was offered a scholarship at The Kings School Canterbury where she is hoping to study A Levels in Maths, Computing and English Lit alongside continuing her rowing training.

  • Christmas Lunch at Wybers

    Pupils and staff enjoyed a festive lunch at wybers today.  Thank you to the catering staff for preparing such a delicious christmas dinner!

  • Smooth Pedalling

    16th December 2015 - De Warenne Academy

    Academy caterers Chartwells educated and entertained students at the same time by setting up a hydration station in the dining room one lunchtime. They brought in a vast range of fruit and vegetables and two ‘smoothie bikes’ and in the picture you can see sixth former Corey Widdowson providing pedal power to make a delicious smoothie. A selection of imaginative, healthy smoothies were distributed to students along with a message which stressed the importance of keeping our bodies hydrated.

  • Christmas Dinner & Entertainer

    Wednesday was the day we got to enjoy a school Christmas dinner complete with crackers and the obligatory party hat!

    In the afternoon we had a surprise visit from Mr Dan's entertainers' who performed some daring, funny and outrageous tricks!

    Crookesbroom watched history being made when Major Tim Peake became the first British astronaut to fly to the International Space Station.

  • Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco.

    15th December 2015 - The Elland Academy

    Thursday 17th December our students are taking part in training on drugs, alcohol and tobacco. We aim to support our young people in making choices that are healthy and to make sure they understand the dangers associated with drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

  • Charity collection for Jerry Green Dog Rescue

    15th December 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Students at Queen Elizabeth’s Academy are collecting toys and treats for the Jerry Green Dog Rescue Centre.  Our students are incredibly caring and thoughtful and are aware of the plight of animal sanctuaries and rescue centres, especially at this time of year.  As a result, Mrs Betts was approached by a group of students to launch a toy and treat appeal. 

    We are asking our students and staff to give generously to ensure the dogs at Jerry Green’s have a wonderful Christmas with extra treats and toys.

  • Mission Launch!!

    15th December 2015 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Wybers Wood is one of only 500 schools who have signed up for the Principia Mission Space Diary which runs for 6 months.  This fits in with Y1 & Y5's curriculum themes and helps to create a memory of the Principia mission that can be kept forever.

    Pupils from Y1 & Y5 watched the mission launch live on telly.  It was so exciting!

  • Miss Colling Leaving

    Early Years said goodbye to Miss Colling today.  She has been covering on maternity leave.  All the pupils and staff would like to wish Miss Colling all the best for the future.
