Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Gymnastics Competition

    24th February 2016 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Our fabulous gymnastics team are representing Wybers Wood at the Grimsby Institute competition today and it is nice to see our new school mascot, Nutkins, out on his first official engagement!

    This event has been organised as part of the Sainsbury's School Games initiative.

    24th February 2016 - England Lane Academy

    We have celebrated world book day early to tie in with our book week. The children all dressed in character costumes and looked fantastic! The book fayre is in school all week - please come and visit during parents' evening.

  • Homework Steering Group

    24th February 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    The Manor Croft Homework Steering Group has now had its second meeting and has been commissioned to improve the regularity, quality and the impact which homework has on learning.  The group consists of Academy Governors, Students, Parents and Teachers and is well on the way to formulating a much improved homework policy, which will be implemented in September 2016.  The group hope that a more project based system of tasks, alongside more traditional homework tasks will help strengthen learning and foster in

  • Year 5/6 Residential

    24th February 2016 - Knottingley St. Botolph's

    Some of our Year 5/6 children went to Caythorpe on a 2 night residential trip.  They had a brilliant time and took part in lots of fun activities.

    All the children grew in confidence and achieved things they never would have thought possible before the trip.

    22nd February 2016 - The Vale Academy

    January Sports Results were as follows:

    • The KS3 Girls’ Basketball team were North Lincolnshire Champions winning overall at St Bede’s Catholic School in Scunthorpe. They will now go on to represent North Lincolnshire at the Humber School Games Finals at Grimsby Institute on the 10th February.

    • The KS4 Boys finished runners up in the North Lincolnshire finals at St Bedes Catholic School in Scunthorpe.

  • Gifted and Talented Dance Project

    19th February 2016 - Simpsons Lane Academy
    On Wednesday 3rd February 2015, five girls from Simpson's Lane attended the G & T dance performance at CAST in Doncaster. This was a fantastic day enjoyed by all. (The girls even got their own dressing room!)
    Over the past six weeks the girls have been practicing the dance at De Lacy Academy, under the tutorship of Sam from CAST. They have learnt how to choreograph a performance as well as the key points to creating an 'effective' dance.

  • Academy Council Visit

    19th February 2016 - Knottingley St. Botolph's

    Today (19th February) the academy council members visited Morrison’s to collect a list of items that will be taken to Knottingley’s food bank with Miss Wilson and Miss Muirhead.

    As part of our visit we all got the chance to put these items through the checkout and print out our own receipt.

    We really enjoyed our time at Morrisons and we have made plans to do this again in the near future.

    We would like to thank Clarie from Morrisons for showing us around and we look forward to working with her again.

  • Train to Teach Event

    18th February 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Want an exciting and challenging career in teaching? 

    This will be an opportunity to meet organisations that deliver teacher training in the Yorkshire and Humber area.

    A wide range of teacher training providers including School Direct Schools, Teaching School Alliances, SCITTs and HEIs will be at the event to advise those who are considering a career in teaching at Early Years, Primary and Secondary level.

    The day will include briefings from NCTL Teaching and Leadership Advisors as well as an Advice Zone offer

  • World Record Attempt

    18th February 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    RASA students are taking part in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for 'the most people participating in simultaneous book quizzes' as part of world book day.

    The attempt will be taking place on Monday 22nd February between 2-3pm.

  • Half Term Activities

    It may be half term here at TEA but that does not stop us providing activities and creating memories for our students.   • Chinese New Year Celebrations!

    11th February 2016 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    On Thursday 11th February, we loved celebrating the Chinese New Year. A huge Chinese Dragon visited the academy to help us with our celebrations, which Penguins particulaly enjoyed!. Frogs and Spiders loved making delicious barbecue chicken as part of their celebrations. Lions and Ladybirds created a dancing dragon and learnt some Chinese numbers. Butterflies made a Chinese drum and wrote instructions, so others would be able make one too. They also compared Hull and China, finding out all about the similar

    11th February 2016 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    A huge well done to all who represented the academy this afternoon at the Hull Schools' Swimming Competition: Ellie and Annie came first and second in their heats. Ellie won both of her individual races, with the fastest time in front crawl, she was also the third fastest swimmer overall in the 25m backstroke. Well done to Lucy and Katie who came 3rd out of 39 pupils in the 25m front crawl sprint and backstroke respectively! fantastic representatives of the academy!   • Chinese New Year 2016 - Year of the Monkey-SM

    10th February 2016 - The Grove Academy

    On Monday 8th of February, KS3 had a special timetable.  Chinese Maths, run by Mrs Morris and Mr Sancho, taught the pupils how the Chinese can calculate huge numbers.  Instead of multiplying they simply lay the numbers out in a certain manner and then add them together.

    Pupils also experienced the process of creating badges with Mr Hamilton and Mr Turner. They researched their own Chinese horoscope images from the internet, and then used the special equipment to make them.

  • Champion Schools Yorkshire Semi Final

    10th February 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    After the Huddersfield Giants evening earlier in the week the Year 8 rugby team put in an excellent performance against a really strong Malet Lambert (Hull) squad.

    Manor Croft won the game 29 - 22 with an outstanding team ethic, discipline and team performance.

    The Year 8 rugby team will now progress to the Champion School Yorkshire Final which is due to be played on the 14th of April (KO time TBC).
