  • Careers Club : The Army

    22nd March 2016 - Garforth Academy

    On Monday 21st March Adam Bradshaw came in to speak to our students about careers in the army along with two special guests from a company called Learning Curve Group which is an organisation that prepares young people for the armed forces.

    Adam spoke about the different roles that are available within the army, such as:

    • Dental Nursing

    • Vets

    • Officers

    • Soldiers

    • Medical Team

    • Catering

    And more!!

  • Easter Bonnet Parade

    22nd March 2016 - Craven Primary Academy

    Our Easter Bonnet parade was a fabulous event this year, with so many children showcasing some amazing designs. Our judges had a tough job picking winners from each class for both the bonnets and gardens.

    Well done to everyone who took part, we hope you had fun creating and crafting with your families.

    Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us in the academy for the big parade, our raffle and cake sale managed to raise a fantastic £51.

    Eight of our Yera 7 boys enjoyed a great day at Hull University, as part of the University's  school engagement week. 

    In the morning they split into two teams and competed in a Maths challenge. This was very popular, games the boys played included ROGO, Bojagi and a chance dice game. They did really well and enjoyed competing against teams from Hymers, Hull Collegiate, The Boulevard and Malet Lambert. The activities encouraged team working and even working with girls!   • Keeping up with the boys in English

    Wednesday 23rd March sees the start of our latest free Family learning course as featured on our web page and in the Hull Daily Mail earlier this month.

    This course offers parents the opportunity to enhance their English skills and gain a national Level 2 equivalent qualification, whilst at the same time helping them to encourage their sons to be more confident with their English skills.

    Anyone interested in trying the course should contact Student Services as soon as possible to secure a place.

    There will be a musical performance from the children in Y1-Y6 on Tuesday 22nd March at 1.30pm. We hope you can join us.

    On Wednesday 23rd March we will be having our annual Easter bonnet competition for all the children in Foundation ,Y1 and Y2. Children in Y3 –Y6 are having a decorated egg or garden competition. Entries for both competitions should be brought in on the day. Winners will receive an Easter egg.

  • Sports Relief

    21st March 2016 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    The children came to school dressed in their sports kits with a donation of 50p for Sports Relief. In our classes, we watched videos about different children who were of similar age to us and learnt about how their lives were different to ours. This then led us to discuss what we are thankful for.

    Throughout the day each class also took part in a skipathon, where we had to see who could skip the most to music in a timed minute! We had lots of fun!

    In one minute, the staff managed 2,404 skips altogether!!


  • Y1 Decorating Easter Eggs

    Our year 1 pupils have been looking at why we have chocolate eggs at Easter.  A reminder of the boulder from Jesus's tomb shape.  A reminder of new life - chicks- Jesus rising from the dead.  We give eggs to consider these reminders so the children have decorated their own Easter Eggs.

  • Sport Relief 2016

    20th March 2016 - Worlaby Academy

    On Friday 18th March the children came to school wearing sporting attire ready to take part in the Sport Relief Mile. Prior to starting, our Sports Ambassadors (Holly, Jake, Sienna and Elliott) did an excellent job of warming everyone up. As a whole school the children participated in the mile and could be heard cheering each other on and supporting one another. Well done to everyone for taking part, and completing the mile. So far we have raised £62.

  • Dance Showcase

    20th March 2016 - Worlaby Academy

    On Tuesday 15th March a group of our pupils from year 1 to year 6 took part in a dance showcase at The Baths Hall Scunthorpe. The pupils performed to Sacrifice by Olly Murs in front of 7 other schools and parents. They all had a fantastic time, and were a real credit to our Academy. Well Done to all of those who took part.
