Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

    The first butterfly has emerged in 5T.  Pupils are studying them as part of their minibeasts theme.

    Crookesbroom has rasied a tremendous £619.72 for NSPCC. Thank you for sponsoring the children- NSPCC really appreciate the support!

  • Tour de Yorkshire Triumph

    The choir were magnificent at the Tour de Yorkshire on Saturday and represented England Lane exceptionally well. Thanks to all children, staff and parents who attended and special thanks, once again, to Nicky and Toni for organising it all.

    We have invested in a trolley filled with new sports equipment for the children to use during their social times. The children are already enjoying using this equipment and we are seeing a greater interest in a number of different competitive sports that they can access.

  • Sport Relief

    2nd May 2016 - Pheasant Bank Academy

    Congratulations to all the children for raising a massive £1226.06 for Sport Relief 2016. The children all dressed up in red, baked cakes to sell during break times, as well as being sponsored to take part in a Haka Dance.

    Furthermore, a special thanks to all the support when biking into school that morning after setting off at 4am from Barnsley. It made it all worthwhile. What a fantastic welcoming.

  • Year 4 Residential to Hartington Hall

    30th April 2016 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    Year 4 children took their first school residential from 27th-29th April.  They stayed at Hartington Hall and had many exciting adventures including becoming Tudors for the day, hiking in the woods and fields and exploring Hartington Village.  They were able to try out skills they had already learned and learn new skills along the way.  It was wonderful to see the growing independence the children showed.  Our video is just a small taste of the adventures had!

  • Drama club wows the audience at CAST

    29th April 2016 - De Warenne Academy

    The De Warenne drama club took part in a performance of a play called "The Musicians" by Patrick Marber on the main stage at CAST on 21st April. This was as part of the National Theatre Connections Project. During the project, the students had a performance at the Academy where a director from the National Theatre gave them excellent feedback on their work. The drama club has students from year 7 to Year 13, who worked fantastically as a team to present a very well received performance. The performance was

  • Tour de Yorkshire

    29th April 2016 - England Lane Academy

    Our choir are singing at the Tour de Yorkshire in Knottingley on Saturday, 30th April. We are very proud of them and thankful to the Jeremy's club parents who run choir. Well done!

  • National Coal Mining Museum

    28th April 2016 - Crookesbroom Primary Academy

    Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic day at the National Coal Mining Museum. All the children braved the underground tour which helped us understand the harsh working conditions of miners. Children from both classes represented our school well!

  • Thursday 5th May

    28th April 2016 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    As you are aware, we have polling day at Simpson's Lane on Thursday 5th May. As SATs are taking place in the coming weeks, we are remaining open for Years 2 and 6 only. The children will working in small groups with a teacher to give them extra support in preperation.

    We were inspected by Ofsted on the 19th and 20th April 2016. Ofsted have now issued their report relating to the inspection.   • Year 6 rocket blast!

    28th April 2016 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    A massive thank you to all the family members of year 6, who gave up their time to help us make our stomp rockets. It was a fun and crazy afternoon, there were lots of good scientifc ideas about how to make nose cones for the rockets. It was lovely to see so much teamwork and co-operation. I was amazed by the rockets at the end. Fingers crossed we do well in the final at Pheasant bank accademy on Friday 17th June.

    It was cold and wet but our netball team did us proud at the competion held at Healing School.

  • Crucial Crew

    28th April 2016 - Pheasant Bank Academy

    Our Y6 pupils recently visited the Life Wise centre in Rotherham. During their visit, they completed a number of activities to learn what to do in a range of situations, including: road safety, emergency first aid, alcohol awareness, using the bus safely, internet safety, fire safety and much more. The children also participated in a mock trial at a magistrate court and learned about how to handle issues such as peer pressure. It was a very fun and informative day.
