The children made and launched rockets for science week and they had lots of fun!  Butterflies have loved learning all about Tim Peake and space.     Queen Elizabeths Academy would like to thank the Lloyds Banking Group for the opportunity given to students from the academy to participate in the School to Work programme.

    The programme started in November where Branch Manager of Halifax, Paul Singhal and Joy Riley Community Manager at Queen Elizabeths Academy launched with "The Event".   • Spine Chillers Writing Competition

    4th March 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    Some of our students have recently been entered into the Young Writer's Competition called 'Spine Chillers Mini Saga' in which they had to write a 100 word sinister story. Currently 50 have been successful and will be published within a special anthology. The company received thousands of stories from all over the UK and work was selected based on imagination, perception, expression and creative use of language.     "It may have been a long time since they were in the classroom, but parents are heading back to school to help their children.

    Families of pupils at Hull Trinity House Academy are being invited to lessons in English, maths and information and communication technology (ICT).

    The school's Keeping Up With The Children classes invite parents and relatives into school to gain an understanding of what their children are learning."

  • World Book Day

    4th March 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    The academy was filled with amazing story characters today as we celebrated World Book Day.

    During the day we had a World Book Day themed dance workshop, for which each year group had their own theme. Nursery's was Jack and the Beanstalk, Receptions: Room on the Broom, Year 1: Superheroes and Year 2: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

    We even had a World Book Day themed lunch with choices like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Bruce Bogtrotters Chocolate cake or Peter Rabbit's Quiche!

  • Spring Term 1 Attendance

    4th March 2016 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    5W and 2W were the best attenders three times in the last half term – making them the  best in school  - Well Done!

    Overall our attendance this term is now similar to national at 95%. A massive thank you to parents for supporting education in this way.

    Our academy target for attendance this year is 96% - with parents support we can do it!

    On 4th March we had a flurry of snow in Worlaby. The children were all really excited and if they had a warm coat with a hood and waterproof shoes, they were allowed outside to play in the snow. Take a look at our pictures.

  • Music at The Grove Academy

    4th March 2016 - The Grove Academy

    On Friday 4th March students thoroughly enjoyed playing a variety of percussion instruments. This was as part of an initial session provided by Live Music Now who visit schools to provide an introduction to music. Students were introduced to the concept of Rhythm, Harmony and Melody, and were amazed at the quality of the ensemble piece that they were able to perform by the end of their first short session.

    World book day fever hit John Whitgift Academy on 3rd March when staff dressed as their favourite literary characters to help celebrate authors, illustrators, books and reading as part of this annual global event. Pupils were invited to take part in a quiz to guess who was who, with many wierd, wild and wonderful answers being given!
