Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Visit to Huddersfield Giants

    8th February 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Monday 8th February the Year 8 rugby team were invited to the training facilities of the Huddersfield Giants.  The students had a tour of the facilities by the scholarship coaches and two bespoke training sessions; one on strength and conditioning and the other session was a ball work exercise.  The students were also given a presentation on the nutrition required for a professional rugby player delivered by Steve Hardisty who is the Huddersfield Giants Player Performance Manager.

  • Visual Arts Project

    5th February 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    A group of five Year 9 students  were selected to represent the Academy on Friday 5February for a School Partnership Trust Event called ‘Journeys’ this Visual Art Project took place at DARTs in Doncaster. 

    On the day, two visual artists were commissioned to work with the young people to help them develop their ideas around the theme of 'Journeys' this was delivered through different types of Art, from drawings to 3D objects.

    Congratulations to our winners of this terms Spelling Bee, competition was fierce and our winners worked very hard to take their titles.

  • Harry Potter Book Night

    5th February 2016 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Y4 pupils had an exciting sleepover in KS2 Hall as part of their Harry Potter Book project. They enjoyed hot chocolate, snacks, activities, watching Harry Potter and eventually sleeping!  Breakfast was served in the morning and ready for another day at school.  Well done everyone for making the night such a super success.  

  • Arts at Cast

    5th February 2016 - The Vale Academy

    The Arts festival, over three days, saw the conference of head teachers opening with the Vale taiko drummers.  The following day saw many of our talented musicians taking part in workshops that spent that one day creating a new piece of dance music which would then be used on the last day by dance students to also create a new piece.  Students from Y7 to Y13 took part in the workshops and evening performance and we have to say how proud we were of them, holding their own on stage against some adult bands.

    Please note school closes for half term at 3.30pm on Friday 5th February and reopens at 8.45 on Tuesday 16th February. School is closed to pupils on Monday 15th February due to staff training day.

  • Story telling day

    We were very lucky to have a special guest in the Academy today- our very own story teller! Each year group took part in a range of activities to help them to develop their story writing skills. Fun was had by all and I am sure that we will start seeing the results in our writing very soon.

    53% of our year 6 families came into our parents SATS meeting.  A huge thankyou to everyone that came, this is the first step in helping us make your childs future a success.

  • Y7 Ambitions Programme

    3rd February 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    A group of Year 7 students that were identified as benefiting from additional support to help them focus on their ambitions took part in a one hour workshop with staff from the University of Nottingham.

    This session allowed the students time to think about themselves and their goals for the future, they talked about what they are good at and what they need to work on more to improve on in their future learning.  They learned about university life and the skills they will develop at university such as indepen

  • Maun Valley Citizens

    3rd February 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    The Good Jobs team met on the 3rd February at All Saints Academy, where they shared their updates on the work they have been completing in their schools and local community on Job opportunities for young people and work experience.

    The students have been busy collecting surveys and responses from school staff and  local neighbours, to see if there were any links into the possibility of gaining a job with and without the opportunity of work experience.

    3rd February 2016 - England Lane Academy

    Year 4 children joined other academies to perform a dance at CAST in Doncaster. They were fabulous and more than did justice to the splendour of the theatre.

  • Gifted and Talented Project

    3rd February 2016 - Knottingley St. Botolph's

    A number of our KS2 pupils have been working on a collaborative dance project with children from five other primary Academies.

    After 6 weeks of hard work, they made their debut performance at the CAST Theatre in doncaster on Wednesday 3rd February 2016.

    The whole group were very professional and the dance was amazing.

    Well done to Victoria, Tegan, Telani, Cameron and Katelyn, you were all fantastic.

  • North Lincolnshire champions

    2nd February 2016 - The Vale Academy

    A triumphant team from Year 9 won a basketball tournament and will represent North Lincolnshire in a regional final.

    The five students - Nikita Donskoy, Charlotte Cawkwell, Sian Burrows, Sophie Bullass

    and Emily Hewis – travelled to St Bede’s Catholic School with Miss Hewitt.

    She said the girls managed a remarkable record, beating the hosts, North Axholme Academy, and St Lawrence Academy in a round robin competition.

     The team will now go on to represent North Lincolnshire in the Humber School Games at the Grim

  • Boys get into hockey

    2nd February 2016 - The Vale Academy

    Ten boys from The Vale represented North Lincolnshire in a national hockey competition.

    They travelled to Hymers College in Hull to play on a plastic pitch and beat Longcroft School and Kelvin Hall School in their group games.

     They lost narrowly to Driffield School in the semi finals but went on to finish third overall in the Under 13 Boys National In2 Hockey competition, beating Longcroft in a play-off.

  • Parent's Engagement Forum: Meeting 3

    2nd February 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On 2nd February the Manor Croft Parent's Engagement Forum convened for its third time this year to discuss the important aspect of reading.  Staff delivered workshops on the importance of reading skills to access all aspects of the curriculum and even a small number of Year 7 students attended to assist.  The main focus was to promote reading at home which will ensure that students can access all materials in examinations and class work.  The forum was a great success and very thought provoking for all invo
