  • 56th Annual Sailors' Service

    13th March 2016 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    Thanks to all the students, parents and staff who supported our school's history and traditions by attending the 56th Annual Sailors' Service at Holy Trinity Church.

    The service focused on members of the seafaring community and in particular on the sacrifices of those sailors who served and died in the Battle of Jutland during WWI.

  • Our new academy opening

    11th March 2016 - The Vale Academy

    Doors will be opened at our rebuilt £13.9-million academy next January, it has been confirmed.

    The new building is really starting to take shape on our existing field and will be ready on schedule.

    Principal Nicola Williams said: “We’re delighted to be able to formally announce when we will move into our new building.

    “Projects of this size and scale can be difficult to manage and I’d like to thank everybody involved for keeping to the original schedule, particularly the contractors Galliford Try.

  • Brand new designs

    11th March 2016 - The Vale Academy

    Imaginative ideas were produced when industry experts came into The Vale Academy and encouraged students to design a product.

    Four designers from Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare Ltd worked with 142 students to develop a new brand based upon their existing ones of Veet, Neurofen, Airwick air freshener and Scholl insoles.

    January Sports Results were as follows:

    • KS4 Boys Badminton were runners up in the Humber School Games KS4 Boys Badminton Finals at Ennerdale Leisure Centre in Hull.

    • KS3 Girls Basketball were runners up in the Humber School Games KS3 Girls Basketball Finals at the Grimsby Institute.

    • KS3 Boys Basketball were runners up in the Humber School Games KS3 Boys Basketball final at The Grimsby Institute.

    To help towards our topic of fairies, pixies and elves we asked our parents to join their children for one of our stay and make sessions to make a home for them!

    We had lots of parents come to help, so a big thank you and of course we got some fabulous homes for our little friends too!

  • World Book Day

    As part of our activities for World Book Day, the well-known author Peter Murray visited school. Following on from this visit the children had the opportunity to purchase signed books at a cost of £6.00.

    Peter vistied each year group where he told one of his favourite stories Scabbajack. The children had a wonderful day!

    Congratulations to all students who attended the South Yorkshire Indoor Sportshall Competition on Wednesday 9th March.
    All teams performed well and had a brilliant experience!
    An extra well done to the Year 8 boys who finished in gold position, beating Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley and another Doncaster School.

  • Year 2 Stay & Make 'Tour De Yorkshire'

    Thank you to everyone who joined us for year 2's stay and make for the Tour De Yorkshire.

    The giant puppet called Donco, will be used at the finish line of the cycle race and is being built by a few selected Doncaster schools. We are very fortunate to be included in this select few.

    So this stay and make session our parents were able to put their idea's forward as to what they felt would be the best representation of the Rossington community to feature on Donco.
