Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Evie Kilburn Represents Australian Champs!

    19th September 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    Evie Kilburn is out in New Zealand at the moment representing the Australian school champions Merrimac State High School. While out in Australia Evie has attended Merrimac and been in lessons.

    Evie is taking part in Rugby Union and Rugby League competitive fixtures.  Evie and her team mates narrowly lost their first game of rugby union in Auckland 30 - 20 but Manor Croft Academy's Evie Kilburn was on the score sheet.

  • Ex-Students Rugby Success

    Manor Croft Academy would like to wish Joshua Pinder and Joseph Summers all the best with their rugby careers.

    Both students left Manor Croft Academy last year and have signed new deals with professional rugby league clubs.  Joshua and Joseph both represented England U16's last year.

    Joshua Pinder has now signed a 3 years deal with Huddersfield Giants and Joseph Summers has signed a 2 years contract with the Castleford Tigers.

    Everyone at Manor Croft Academy wishes the boys all the best in the future.

  • Garforth Academy Post-16 Free School bid

    15th September 2016 - Garforth Academy

    Garforth Academy are currently putting together a bid to open a new Post 16 Free School in Garforth. Parents and members of the local community are invited to attend a presentation event at Garforth Academy on Tuesday 20th September.

    The event will enable the Academy to share the details of the proposed project in more detail, highlighting the benefits to the community and particularly its young people. There will also be an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions.

  • Reformed GCSE's for Years 7 - 11

    15th September 2016 - Garforth Academy


    Reformed GCSEs will continue to be introduced gradually with wave 2 beginning in September 2016. They will be graded from 9 to 1 (P1 – P3 Pre-GCSE Scale), instead of A* to G. The new GCSE’s will be significantly more difficult as they have additional content and are primarily assessed by examination. A new grade 5 will be the new ‘pass’ level, which is equivalent to a high grade C currently. Students awarded GCSEs in 2017 and 2018 will therefore receive a mi

  • School Run

    15th September 2016 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Pupils volunteered to take part in a weekly school run on a specially mapped out course around the school grounds.  The event has been organised by Mr Wrigley who goes running regularly.  Pupils will be timed each week to help build their stamina and overall fitness.
