    On Wednesday 21st September 2016, Miss Smith and Mrs Cairns along with Year 8 students went along to Grand Opera House, York to watch the amazing story of David Walliams' ‘Gangsta Granny’. Students from the creative writing, reading and debate club attended the much anticipated showing of Gangsta Granny, and absolutely loved watching the novel come to life.   • Grown Up Grangers

    We are delighted to inform you that our new Parents, Teachers & Friend's Association Group here at Grange Lane Infant Academy has been named Grown Up Grangers!

    Grown Up Grangers are now preparing for their first big fund raising event, which will be Friday 2nd December. The plan is to have a large Christmas Fayre, with a Santa’s Grotto, stalls, tombola’s, raffles and games.

    22nd September 2016 - The Parks Academy

    Y6 are so excited because tomorrow they will visiting London! They will visit famous places and will learn more about British values. They will also see statues of famous people and ask they question "Why are these people famous? What have they done? Amongst the many things they will do will be to visit Nelson's Column, Buckingham Palace and a tour of the Houses of Parliament.

  • Student Wins Young Furniture Makers Award

    21st September 2016 - Garforth Academy

    Every year the Furniture Makers Association asks schools to nominate a winner in  school  for the Young Furniture Makers Award. This year the award for Garforth was won by Megan Hill; for her bass guitar holder, which was part of her Product Design coursework. The department choose Megan because her work  involved the use of different materials and  a variety of manufacturing techniques; and the accuracy of her is excellent and the department believe that Megan approached a genuine problem and solved it in
