    28th November 2016 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    The Academy is supporting the Samaritan’s Purse shoebox appeal.  We would appreciate complete shoeboxes, empty shoeboxes, Christmas wrapping paper, items to go in the boxes or cash donations towards the costs of sending them.  We are also continuing to act as a collection point for any member of the public or organisation wishing to donate shoeboxes to this well-established appeal which sees boxes of Christmas cheer delivered to needy children in different parts of the world.   For more information, please

    28th November 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    Today Manor Croft Music Department was visited by a Music Industry Specialist who gave a careers and industry talk to the Year 10 BTEC music group.  Sam Day, a live sound technician and engineer, lead a discussion on his role working within the music industry across the UK and internationally.  Following the talk the Year 10's then took part in a Q&A session which allowed them to ask in depth questions related to working in live music performance.  This industry based discussion gave the pupils an invaluabl

    28th November 2016 - Serlby Park Academy

    The carol service for the tree lighting ceremony at the Town Hall was a great success. All three schools (Serlby Park, All Saints and St Patrick’s) sang beautifully and the event was attended by many parents and well-wishers.

    Our Year 8 students have been involved in a design competition, as part of their Art work, to design the official Ash Hill Academy 2016 Christmas card. The entries were very difficult for Mr Higgins to judge, as the quality of design was so high, and it was clear that a lot of thought was put into them by Year 8.

    However, we can now announce the winners of the Christmas Card competition:

    25th November 2016 - Ash Hill Academy

    This morning a group of our Year 7 students decorated the academy Christmas tree in main reception. The decorations that they applied, which were all designed and made by our Year 7 students in Art, are part of a competition judged by Mr Higgins.

    Could you build a bridge with limited time and resources to span a gap and hold the weight of an adult? Last week student’s across the academy took on this challenge!

    A variety of bridges were made of all different sizes and shapes, some of which took the weight of Miss Aspin, some however collapsed under the pressure, maybe students did not use enough PVA glue or staples?

    Our Poppy Appeal raised a fantastic £458.54 for the Royal British legion. Thank you to our families for their kind generousity. This contributed to a district toal of £17050.991 We recieved a thank you card from Terry Thackral the Local Honorary Organiser.

    Buddy Panda (from The Education Network in Leeds) came to visit us on Friday 25th November to hand out certificates to children in each class who came up with the best pieces of work all linked to Anti-bullying week. During Anti-bullying week (14th-18th November) children discussed the different types of bullying, how to identify it and what to do if they feel they may be bullied.   • Fitting farewell

    Talented students paid a fond farewell to familiar surroundings in two special concerts at The Vale Academy.

    The concerts, organised by three Year 13 students as part of their Level 3 BTec course, took place in Westmoor Hall.

    Almost 60 years old, it will be demolished with the rest of the existing school in the New Year after the move to its new building after Christmas.

    The Farewell Concerts took place over two nights and featured the academy’s many musicians.

    Last night saw a fantastic evening of celebration for students who have been working on the Positive Activities programme with staff from the Base, St Ledger Homes and Stronger Families.

    During the programme the students self made and directed a film which was then projected on to the wall of the academy showcasing their work and achievements.
