  • Reading Challenge Platinum Award

    27th March 2017 - Serlby Park Academy
    We are delighted to celebrate the success of Jessica in Year 4 who has just completed the Serlby Park Academy Platinum Reading Challenge Award by reading an extra twenty books.
    This is in addition to the eighteen books Jessica read to claim our coveted Gold Award.
    Congratulations and well done to Jessica. 



  • Taylor Wimpey Visit

    27th March 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy


    Keith from Taylor Wimpey held an assembly for our children today to highlight the dangers of a building site.

    He told the children how builders, electricians, grounds people and anyone who works there has to wear lots of personal protection gear to help keep themselves safe.

    The children enjoyed modelling some of the personal protection clothing and watched a video about a working building site and the dangers it could hold.


  • Comic Relief 2017

    24th March 2017 - Worlaby Academy

    For Comic Relief 2017, the school council decided to raise money by holding a non uniform and crazy hair day. We saw lots of wonderfully crazy creations (from both the pupils and staff). We managed to raise a fantastic £87.30 - once again thank you for your generosity.

    The Arts & Craft Club have been busy with their spring creativity this week, as they have been making Easter bunnies. Following step-by-step instructions, they used small cloths, googly-eyes, pre-made faces and Cadbury’s Crème Eggs to produce the unique little Easter keepsakes.

    We were visited by some lovely animals today including calves, goats, ponies, rabbits, chickens, a tortoise and the cutiest lambs you can imagine.  The children learnt lots of different things about the animals including what they eat and how they live on the farm.

    As part of 'Make £5 blossom', the children in Year 5 have designed four the badges that will be on sale at the Academy from next week, each badge will cost 25p each. There are 4 to collect and if you buy the set then you will get a free limited edition city of culture badge!



    24th March 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy Did you know it's Rudolf's favourite day today? Red Nose Day ... ha ha ha ... and here at Grange Lane Infant Academy we have had a barrel of laughs. Thanks to all the children who donated a pound for this very worthy charity.

  • Red Nose Day

    24th March 2017 - Willow Green Academy

    On the 24th March, Willow Green had a non-uniform day to raise money for Red Nose Day. We also sold 120 red noses! By selling the noses and with all the donations we received, we raised £271.03 for this fantastic cause. Thank you. 


  • CSI day

    24th March 2017 - Weelsby Academy

    On Friday 24th March Simon Smith came in to show us some information about CSI (Crime Scene Investigation). We did lots of fun things like finding our own finger prints and our own DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). At the end of the day we had a big investigation, with a murder. It was a little “girl” with lots of blood in different places - she was badly hurt. We investigated the room looking for footprints, fingerprints and DNA. The most fun bit was where we got a cotton bud and scraped it across the blood. We

    The Year 8 Assembly on Wednesday 22nd March 2017 hosted guest speakers from the Army Cadet Force. Sergeant Proud came in to speak with Year 8 students about the Army Cadets in general, the opportunities available, as well as the specifics of joining the local detachment at Thorne.
